sunset taj -> bharatpur
Hello, I'm currently planning on spending 1 day in Agra. I would like to see sunset at Taj and then make it to Bharatpur to catch train at 19:35 to Udaipur. Is this realistic? Or would it be better to leave Agra earlier in day, visit Fatepur and then to Bharatpur?
Thank you! |

It depends on when you're going to be there; sunset is at different times during the year in Agra, just as it is in the USA.
Google is your friend for this; you can find the times listed by date. Tonight, sunset is at 6:06; I'm not sure how long it takes to get to Bharatpur but seems to me it might be very close timing. |

I will be there in mid-November. My biggest concern is whether or not it is safe to drive from Agra to Bharatpur via car after sunset...any thoughts?

I hate being on the road in India, especially at night. Those drivers are crazy!

Agra is 55 km from Bharatpur. Should not take more than 2 hours by car or a little less. People do drive on roads at night but then we are used to it.

That gives me even more time! I'm just trying to determine if I need to get to Bharatpur before the sun goes down. If I wanted to see Fatepur, this would mean leaving Agra quite early.
Any recommendations for things to do in Bharatpur - seems like I will have some time to kill. |

There will be birds at Keoladeo Park (the bird sanctuary at Bharatpur) but it's best to spend the night there and see the birds when they wake at dawn.
I didn't go into the town when I was there ... it's small, dusty. The bird sanctuary is 20 minutes away by autoricksha ... but nothing to do at night out there but meet the folks from your hotel, or go to another hotel for dinner. |
