suggestions wantedfor india vist may/june!

Well myself and my friend have just booked our flights to delhi arrving 18th may and leaving 23rd june..as it stands our itenerary does not exist!
Would love to hear suggestions / advice on how to really get the most from such a short stay.
Would love to fit kerala in..
As i say would love to hear any advice / suggestions... Also any recommendations for convenient hotel in delhi when we arrive itll be pretty late..
Anyone else travelling round this time or are we the only ones crazy enough not to wait till the summer is over!

Visit the Kashmir valley and Ladakh; its the perfect time to go. And yes, its currently safe.
Rule out Rajathan as its too hot.
If you want more of the Himalayas as well as spiritual solace, spend time in Rishikesh.
If you find Tibetan Buddhism is in, head for Dharmsala.
Plan a week each in Karnataka and Kerala, and a weekend in Mumbai.
Finish your holiday in Delhi and Agra, with a visit to the Taj.

Hi Indizen...thanks so much for the extremely prompt reply!
Really like the sound of that and it seems very acheivable..have yet to get my head around the travelling logistics but ive got a few weeks left to organise that!
It is great to be able to get advice and suggestions and i cant praise this website enough!

You'd better start making firm plans and booking the trains you need, before they're all fully-booked...

again my naivity has let me down...hadnt realised this would be a serious issue..thought itd be fairly easy to organise most of this on arrival

Mickey S is right, You need to make preparation well if your travelling by trains. During this period there are vacations of schools and even it is not uncommon for people to take off and head for vacations.
