Suggestions for destinations for 3-4 day trip from Delhi/Gurgaon

Hi,
I am planning a 3-4 days trip (long week end) from Gurgaon/Delhi. But I could not find any suitable places.
The requirements are
1. place should involve 8-12 hrs train journey as I love train journey.
2. The Budget is < 5K per person.

The tentative time is in August or September. We will be 3 Guys.

What do u mean by suitable places?

My obvious suggestion would be to head for the hills, especially in August in which case you can look at Uttaranchal / Himachal..

i think himachal would be too stressful for a long weekend i would suggest you can go t dhanaulti and around its not too far and a nice place for weekend breaks i was very often there when i was living in delhi and the connectivity between delhi and dehradoon is also good with buses and trains and taxi..
