Suggestions for a 5 day trip!!!
Hi Folks,
I am looking fowrard to a few suggestions about a trip that i am planning soon: date: December 21 - December 25 could you suggest a place in central India that i could visit. i say central because i do not want to go to the hill as it would be very cold there. i am looking forward to some place either of temprate conditions or even those similar to delhi, but hills of north would just be too cold. any suggestind would be worth while. Thanks a lot |

u can also try for Kanha and Bandhavgarh...........if interest in wild life santuaries........ Mandu is another option (though its more beautiful just after rains)

U can check for Panchmadhi too. Nice, small hill station, not crowded at this time of the year & not very cold too, since it not on very high altitude. As cold as Delhi / Chandigadh. We had done Panchmadhi, Kanha & Khajuraho in a 5 day trip & it was wonderful. (We did that in March)

Mandu is a lovely place, worthwhile, was there last November. How to go there? Know nothing about trains or buses, went there by car, a 2-2,5 hrs. drive from Indore.
Enjoy! |

hey , although i was earlier inclined to go to mandu, but now that u hva told me about your 5 day trip,Panchmadhi too seem like a good options ....... how far is it from delhi and what all is there to do there . since i do not have a very big budget, ideally i would not like to go to more than one place and would rather like to remain at the same plave the entire 5 days ....... in such a case, would Panchmadhi still be good?
or for that matter would mandu be ok if i plan to b there only for the entire 5 days??? hey ntomer, can u let me know your approx travel plans ....... in terms of how r u going and what sort of a budget your trip would round up to ..and anyother details that you could tel me ..... just for me to get to understand how best can i plan my trip and how much would that cost me overall ???? . thanks in anticipation Last edited by machadinha : Dec 17th, 2007 at 10:07. I've been googling and searching around but find little conclusive on it, have trouble coming up with station codes for that matter, and they may well not have any (Stations, that is. Mandu's much on my wish-list btw.) I think neither place would be very nearby nor all that easy to reach from Delhi.
I suppose having your own transport might help, but it's still quite some ways.

I will be travelling to Jhansi by Bhopal Shatabdi on 22nd morning (Rs. 545/- per head). From Jhansi one can get bus or taxi to Khajuraho, i don't know about exact prices. In my case, my in-laws are based in Jhansi, so I'll get a car from there and drive to Khajuraho myself. In Khajuraho one can get hotels ranging from 100 bucks per night to 3500 bucks per night (for 5 star properties). I plan to stay there for 1 night, then drive to Panna National Park (30 KMs away), stay there for one night. Go to a boat-ride and safari, and then come back to Orchha. Stay there for a night, and take the Bhopla Shatabdi back to Delhi on 25th (Rs. 585/- (per head). Over-all the trip won't cost more than 10-12K for me and my wife. \N |

i have finally managed to decide a plan that includes Khajuraho and orchha ....... i would try and book train / hotels today .... while going through a few websites for orchha i saw that mnay places offered "SWISS TENTS" to stay in ..... has anyone ever been in any of these .......... any experiences about them??? Hey guys - one more suggestion needed .... depending on what trains i get, i might have 2-3 hours in Jhasi in the afternoon before leaving back for delhi ... if i get this time, could you suggest what i could do, or where i should go in that time ...... thanks ..... ![]() Last edited by bitzz : Dec 19th, 2007 at 10:00. However if you are interested, there is a very old cemetery in Jhansi with many graves of early 19th century and the 1857 revolution. http://www.indian-cemeteries.org/cem...ent%20Cemetery Or you can hire a cab and visit sukua-dukua dam (about 25 KMs from Jhansi). \N |
