Suggestion Required | Travel Plan Delhi - Ranikhet - Munsiyari - Delhi @ Wagon R

Hi All,

I have almost finalized my plans for the travel to Uttarakhand.

Travel Dates - 26th Sep - 3rd Oct (Delhi - Munsiyari - Delhi and places in between)

This time I am looking out to visit
1. Ranikhet - Stay for 2 nights
2. Chakori - Stay for One night
3. Munsiyari - Stay for three nights
4. Place yet to Close So need suggestion. This will be one night stop so that descending would be easy.


Travel Company
Wife and Daughter(1 year and 10 months young)
:-) I guess wife's age need not to be disclosed.

Any suggestions as my daughter is young.

Travel tips are welcome.

Routes chosen so far.
1. Delhi to Ranikhet ( via Kaladhungi 340KM )
2. Ranikhet to Chakori (via Bageshwar 156 KM, Via BeriNag 134 KM)
Which Route is better in terms of road condition. traffic etc?
3. Chakori to Munsiyari (Via kalamuni pass 67 KM)

I request all the members to suggest there take on the plan.
Any additions or modification in plan.

The plan is Ok but two nights in Munsyari are more than enough. Can add one more place depending on your priorities. Increasing travelling to visit more places will be equally enjoyable in this season due to the perfect weather and greenery. And good that you did not mention wife’s age, better avoid travelling alone in bruised condition.

The main reason for staying in munsiyari for 3 days is Photography.
I don't want to come back with out some good pics..

We want to take it real easy and stay there to get a remote idea of living in such a place.

I wish we could live in munsiyari for longer.

During my earlier trips i have realized that one should not try to visit more places but try to enjoy one place and its surrounding. I would be looking for some peaceful time at munsiyari to relax and clear out my mind.

So I might would break my journey at one place only while coming back.

Help me close down this place where I can stay while coming back from munsiyari. I can think of mukhteshwar as one such place. I even want to stop at almorah to load some local delicacies.

Some corrections on distance mentioned

Ranikhet to Chaukori via bageshwar is 150 Km. The other root via almora-Daulchina is around 190 Km. Berinag is just 10 Km from Chaukori. Route via bageshwar is good, with few bad patches around Baijnath.

Chaukori to Munsiyari will be around 110-115 Km. There is some bad patch around Kalamuni Top.

On return from Munsiyari you can stop at Almora (220 Km) or Mukteshwar (260 Km).

Distance between Chakori - Munsiyari came as a shocker. Any ways good things don't come easy.
