Our guy is charging 2400/day.
My itinerary is Shimla, Sarahan, Chitkul, Kalpa, Nako/Tabo, Kaza, Chahdertaal, Manali (These are the stops. There are multiple detours and day trips spread across Kinnaur, Spiti and Lahaul)
The cost of hired SUV is Rs 28K for 10 days.

Would anybody if camps are their in chandertaal or not around 15/16th of August. Also, if not chandertaal what is the nearby decent place for night halt before pushing for Manali - Batal, Khoksar PWD or any nearby PWDs???
Would Rohtang be impossible to travel during those dates cos of the slush?

Are your plans for August still on the cards ? I have a trip planned for the Kinnaur-Spiti-Manali circuit during 2nd/3rd weeks of September. Two dampeners till now - first the flash floods in Pin Valley in June (No idea whether the valley is open now or the links to Sagnam and other villages restored), second - yesterday's havocs around Manali and Mandi.
Have you been in touch with anyone regarding roads to Sangla and then onward to Kaza ? Are these still open ?

Came back from Spiti. Really awesome journey. Roads are good till Batal from Kinnaur side. No trouble at all. The car went right till Chandrataal. Roads are bad from Batal to Rohtang - but nothing to worry about. Will post pics and details in coming days

Circuit included - Sarahan, Sangla, Chitkul, Kalpa, Tabo/Nako, Gulling/Mud (Pin Valley), Langza/Hikkim/Komic, Kaza, Kye/Kibber, Losar, Chandertaal, Chattru, Gramphoo and Manali.

Lucky guys... We had to abandon plans of completing the circuit as we went and were in Spiti when the Manali cloud burst happened... but there is always a next time
