South India Itinerary (Finally) - Is it possible/practical?
Finally worked out a plan for my trip - never been to India before so im unsure if its a practical route - and help, suggestions or comments would be great - thanks for all the help!
10th Jan - 11th Feb
Arrive Kochi
Fort Kochi/Kerela Backwaters -3/4 days
Bus/Train to Munnar 1 day
Munnar 2 days
Bus/Train to Mettupalayam, train to Coondoor, train to Ooty
Ooty to Mysore
Mysore to Mangalore
Mangalore to Gokarna
Gokarna to Goa
Goa to Hampi and back To Goa to fly home
Not sure how long we will stay in each place as it depends on the situation on the ground at the time. My guide book claims that travel by bus or train between all the places i listed is possible.
Any help would be brilliant thanks!

What I would do from Ooty onwards :Bus to Bandipur National Park
Bus to Mysore
Train to Bangalore and straight further to Hampi
Train to Goa
Ofcourse then you would have to skip Gokarna and Mangalore. Don't think Mangalore is very interesting (could be wrong).
Bandipur is a nice park (with tigers and elephants, ...) and it's between Ooty and Mysore.
Lineker10,
The itinerary is very interesting, all the sites mentionned worth the visit.
From the backwaters to Munnar there are not trains. I can suggest to visit Thekadi (Periyar Nat. Park) from Alleppey not only because is an interesting Park but also because the road between Thekkadi and Munnar is in my opinion the most beautiful in India. Another suggestion is after Mysore go to Belur and Halebid on your way to Mangalore.
