I am planning to go to India for the first time this fall. I am overwhelmed by the possibilities!

What places do you think I should definitely try to see?

I am interested in beautiful religious temples, and historical sites, plus a little bit of shopping.

I will be 30 years old and traveling alone.

I only have 10-12 days or so, but I am flexible as to exactly when I go...

Well, is there any thing or place in India that you have always wanted to see? Or what city would you like to fly into and out of?

I mean, give us a clue, girlfriend ... we have no idea what your interests might be, or which temples or historical sites might attract you.

Shopping is easy. In New Delhi, go to the Cottage Industries Emporium on Janpath; it's a government store, fixed-price, and has fabulous shopping. You can fill a carry-on bag for about $75.
