Hell No!

I'm pretty adventurous, but I'm with Nick on this one!

I hope you are a Hindu, because you're gonna need reincarnation, buddy!

As long as the plane can get over a 1000' I'm safe, i know my gear is good.

So that's one element covered.

What about the ground you'll be jumping over?
The guys you'd be going with?
Conditions on the ground?
What happens if you have a hard landing?

I think there is a huge difference in risk between someone who is new to the sport learning to skydive in India, and an experienced skydiver brining their own kit and making their own informed decisions on arrival.

Seeing as how you've said it's your first visit to India, it would be interesting to hear how you would plan to deal with the issues involved.

Like i said, relax

When you see me climbing into an unsafe plane then get on my case. I'm a skydiver making enquiries on a skydiving thread that was here before me.

I used to charter yachts with friends for sailing off the Cornish Coast, Scillies, Channel Islands. We took out some expensive stuff, up to a 44-footer.

We had a relationship with the charter company over several years, so they obviously got to know us (we started small, and just pottering around the River Fal), but we once asked them why they did not insist on paper qualifications for charterers. The guy replied that he could tell more about a new customer by the way he climbed aboard a boat than by any certificate they waved at him.

In this sort of area, if a guy is experienced, then I'm sure that the signs and portents are obvious, and that someone who knows what they are doing, and is aware that checks and controls in many areas in India are absent or lesser than may be used to, will consider the risks and look even more carefully.

As you might have noticed, I'd do my bit to warn any novice off a lot of risky pastimes in India; someone with experience must and will make their own assessments --- which is, I guess, what Pauley is saying here.

Hi all, Ive been for a skydiving camp in Uttarakhand at Pantnagar airstrip about two years ago. The camp was organised by Santosh Nagaraj and Amber Aviation. You can google for info... The aim was to form the first woman skydiving team in India.
Cheers.
