Smile Sikkim or Jaldapara for someone recovering from food poisoning.

I've been in Darjeeling for 5 days more than we were supposed to, due to getting food poisoning here. I'm am totally weak and we were supposed to go to Sikkim to do a trek, which naturally I can't do now. My boyfriend will still go ahead anyway.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do in this area while waiting for a week for my boyfriend to come back from the trek. Sikkim is supposed to be foggy at the moment so I don't want to hang around somewhere where I can't actually see any of the sights and I'm funnily enough getting a bit sick of the cold. lol!

I really want to do an elephant safari so I thought it would be perfect to go to Jaldapara. My budget is pretty low so if anyone has any low cost/stress ideas let me know.

Many thanks in advance!!!

Plus any travel bus/jeep/train suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Japdapara should be warm.

Elephant safaris are not cheap and they only last about an hour.

What are you gonna' do the rest of the time?

We can sympathize with your not wanting to be in Sikkim in the fog - we were there for 2 weeks this spring and it was unsatisfying (it was foggy in Darj also)

You can stay in Kalimpong where the weather is pleasant & clear. While staying there, you've lots of options to spend your time such as visiting "lava & lolegaon" forest areas. There are many flower nurseries in & around kalimpong. There is a very picturesque valley of "Relly river" near kalimpong.

As far as Sikkim is concern, I was there last week. Gangtok is hot & sunny with the temperature around 30-31 degree.
