Shimla-Manali-Kullu-Chandigarh in a cab

I plan to drive around Shimla-Manali-Kullu-Chandigarh in a cab (an Indica Non/ac).I am from Bangalore.I am travelling with my wife and 1 year old baby.

When I checked with a travel agent in Bangalore, he said he can arrange the can for Rs.1700 per day min 200kms (inclusive of all taxes , driver bata etc) + Rs.500 green tax in Manali.

Heres the plan.

Day 1 - Arrive at Shimla at aroung 10.30 AM , local sight seeing , spend evening in Mall road.

Day 2 - Sight seeing in/around Simla.What are the places to visit.

Day 3 - Check out from Shimla and travel to Manali , reach manali in the evening.Just roam aroung the mall road.
Day 4 - Tarvel to Rohtang pass,What other places can I visit in Manali , so that I can make full use of my cab's per day charge.

Day 5.- Again spend time in Manali

DAY 6 - Travel to Kullu, Manikaran .Is Manikaran close to Kullu?
Night stay at Kullu.

Day 7.Travel to Chandigarh, reach chandigarh in the evening.Sight seeing to Rock Garden/Malls etc.

Is the cab charges ok?

Please let me know some places which I can visit in Shimla,Manali and Kullu.

Around Shimla, go to Kufri and Chail, they are very beautiful.

Manikaran is approx 50km from Kullu. Near Manali, you can visit Solang Nala.

Cab charges, I know you can get a Sumo/Mahindra for this price. So I think you have some room for bargaining.

If you arrive in Shimla at 10.30 you'll have seen it all by dinner time. Don't waste another day there - it's a hole. Move on to Manali, and spend more time there.

Are you taking the cab from Delhi? Another alternative is to take the train to Chandigarh & hire a cab from there for the whole trip and return to Chandigarh.

From Dehli , I will be travelling to Shimla by Train.I will catch the Howrah-Kalka train from Old Delhi, then get the connection train Shivalik express from Kalka to Shimla.I dont' want to miss the train journey in the hills.

Since, I will be travelling with 1.5 year old kid, I don't want to make it very hectic too.Hence thought will spend a day in Shimla.

How is the road to Manali from Shimla.Are the roads good enough with scenaries worth taking snaps or a small halt in between?

Also, howz the road journey from Manali to Kullu and from Kullu to Chandigarh?

While returning from Manali, I am not sure if I should stay for a day in Kullu.I understand that its is just 40kms from Manali.Is it worth staying in Kullu or rather drive straight to Chandigarh.
What are the places to see in/around Kullu for a day?

Since I am from South, I may not visit these places very often in the future.

Any thoughts, pls.
