Road Manali - Leh - End of May

My husband and I are planning to go to Leh from Manali in the first week of June. I would like to hear from others who would be there that time.

am planning to visit Ladakh in Mid june(approx june-22) - have taken 15-20 days off and want to go all around Ladakh-zanskar-kargil-dras-kasmir-chandigarh. am not sure whether i will have enought time to cover all the places - but will try my level best.

Am travelling solo if i dont get eny travel mates.

*) can any easily go around places in Ladakh?

i happen to know that acco is not a problem; hence havent thought about it.

My formost concern is going around places i came to know that the trip to PangongSo costs arnd 7k .. am .. hence need info on the travel modes.

Hi,

As far as my info is concerned regular buses ply between pagong tso lake and leh. They generally charge about 250-300 one way.

I am not sure about taxi. But you might be able to share it with some one as this shall be very hot season for leh

Hi Manju,

Me and my wife are from Ahmedabad and are travelling to Leh via manali on 12th June. We have booked a shared taxi with a night halt in Sarchu. Charges are around 3500 per person. From Leh we will be going to Pangong Tso, Tso Moriri and Nubra and finally to Srinagar via Kargil. Around Srinagar we will be visiting Wular Lake, Gulmarg and pahalgam. Will be back to Delhi by flight. Contact me for any help.

hi all,

just got the information that MANALI - LEH road seems to be shrinking due to water seepage and the BRO cannot repair this.

they may have to build a diversion of 3 km which could take upto one year !!

if this happens then MANALI- LEH is out and may have to go via SRINAGAR.

i dont know from where to check does anyone have any contact in MANALI to check this fact out?

good to see so many couples from ahmedabad planning this trip. i too am planning this with my wife, but am not sure about the dates as they are still not finalised

Hi Everybody,

I just called up my taxi driver in Manali few minutes back. He says there has been a small depression on the road before Marhi, however it is not very serious and BRO is working on it. Road will be allright in few days. Even right now taxis are plying on it through the depression.

Road is open only upto rohtang pass right now and depression has occured near Marhi which comes before rohtang pass.

M from Ahmedabad too, along with my husband planning 4 the same around 15th Jun - 27th Jun.Initially planned 2 go 2 Srinagar too, but now due to shortage of days will be returning 2 Delhi from Leh itself(flight), but the rest of the our itinerary matches. R u sharing the taxi with around 8-10 ppl or with some another couple?Many more queries..infact,I think it wud b gud if v cud talk in detail abt this n cud b @ Leh @ d same time, to make d trip more pleasurable.
