recommend bus, train, flight from Pondicherry to Kochin
recommend bus, train, flight from Pondicherry to Kochin
hi...i will be leaving Pondicherry on feb 26th heading to Kochin. What is the 'best' way to Kochin... bus to chennai then fly? i see there is no train station in Pondicherry itself...true? tried to find express bus north but no luck on search? anyone have suggestions?

Either bus to chennai then fly or bus to chennai then train

I did the opposite, I got a bus from Kochin to Podicherry. Journey wasn't too pleasent but I got there!

Train from Villupuram Jn to Trichy, then an overnight train from Trichy to Ernakulam Jn
Ernakulam Jn is the main-line station for Kochi, and Villipuram is 38kms from Pondi, there's also likely a direct bus from Pondi to Trichy.

From Chennai you have many options.
Flight Option: You can take a direct flight which will take you to Kochin in less than 2 hours and it would you around Rs3500 to Rs 6000 depending on the availability.
Train Option: It would take around 12 to 14 hours . A 3 tire AC Sleeper train would cost Rs 780 to Rs 900 depending on the train.
A Non AC Sleeper class train would cost you around Rs 300.
Bus Option: If you take a Volvo bus it would take around 10 hours and would cost Rs 900.
