When I lived there, I couldn't feel much difference. Maybe it feels different for a short time visitor. Never been to Vietnam, but could imagine that it's similar there.

How about 10 days in Rajasthan, will give you more time to spend visiting the areas, then fly to Cochin and do a backwater trip for 3 days, 1 or 2 days at Varkala beach or Munnar and return.
You have some nice areas picked out, probably still a bit rushed. Bundi is chilled and relaxing, you may also want to relax for a day in Udaipur when you get there. I certainly would, it's a beautiful city. If I was looking for romantic locations, Delhi wouldn't be my choice...It has some interesting sights...but it's pretty dirty, polluted and horribly congested. I tend to get out of Delhi as soon as I can.

We live near los angeles, calif so we are no unfamiliar with 100+ degree weather but the humidity is a whole 'nother situation. Vietnam was amazing, green and sweaty. Leaving the hotel every morning was like walking into a steamy bathroom. But what are you going to do? My husband can't leave work any sooner than march so steamy shower here we come!!Matthew: Thanks for the tip on Dehli hopefully we'll be there for just long enought to get over the worst of our jet lag and get of glimps of big city living. |

The best way to deal with the humidity is not to use air con, no matter how tempted, forget it, then you don't have the huge temperature differences and the immediate sweat that brings, also, walk real slow, as if you don't care if you ever get to where you're going, real real slow, you see a whole new world when you walk slow.
