rajasthan-gujarat 1month november
Hi am planning a trip duration 1 month starting in delhi ending in mumbai which goes something like this: delhi-jaipur-ranthambore-pushkar-jodpur-udaipur-ahmedabad-junagadh-gir-diu -fly mumbai.
I am worried tht i am cramming too much in and that it will be rsuhed. i have been to india 3x before so used to using trains taxis etc, must admit not one for busses and hava resaossnable budget but was worried about the gujurtat section esp udapur -junagadh. has anyone done a similar trip any advice? thanks ![]() |

Last year we traveled a part of this trip in the opposite direction. It was part of a longer journey and since we also want to go to Bhuj we decided to hire a car for the Gujarat leg, this ended in Udaipur. From Udaipur to Jodhpur we did take a bus. For more extended information follow the link below.
By train you can go from Udaipur to Ahmedabad and then to Junagadh. |

At 11 places in a month, should be doable I reckon. The route also strikes me as pretty straightforward, off the top of my head. If you find you have to drop a place or two at the end, so be it. I've done both states but on a very different itinerary, so won't be of much use to you. The route is here if it may serve as inspiration: http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/s...32/ppuser/5654. That was about the same number of places in a month. In fact I think somewhere half-way through this we decided to push on to Gujarat, missing some other places in Rajasthan we had planned on visiting, in order to devote the second half to that. I suppose there, too, we had to give up on some other places.
Buses are really practical in both areas, but if you don't like them and have a decent budget, maybe substitute by cars indeed. Better make sure those flights Diu-Mumbai are currently still going. If not, I reckon you can get there by land in a day or thereabouts.
