Me (26+ female) and my mother (56+) will be travelling India for the first time at first week of September. I have planned my itinerary from Kolkata to Rajsthan and have planned to take round trip flight from Kolkata-Jaipur. I wish to travel in a moderate pace and moderate manner of journey.
We are used to fast paced travelling but the countries we have visited before had more faster and cheaper transport options . I am not sure if I am still rushing with my plan.
Below is my 1 week itinerary:

Day 1:
Arrive Jaipur from Kolkata
Kolkata - Jaipur - Plane - 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM - 2 hr - arrive same day
Hire taxi/cab for a day tour, drop luggage at railway station

Jaipur - Agra Fort -Train - 5:00 PM to 9:40 PM -4.5 hr - arrive same day evening
Check in hotel near Tajmahal

Day 2:
Eid observance in the early morning at Tajmahal
Walk around the Agra city

Day 3:
Checkout from hotel
Agra Fort - Bharatpur JN - Train -5:00 AM -6:00 AM - 1 hr - arrive Bharatpur
Drop luggage at station, Visit Bharatpur bird sanctuary , national park

Bharatpur JN - Jodhpur JN -Train -21:01 to 6:35 - 9.5 HR - overnight journey in 2A by Howrah jodhpur express

Day 4:
Arrive early morning, check in hotel. If check in not possible early morning then drop luggage
Visit Jodhpur and around

Day 5:
Same day returning camel safari

Day 6:

Jodhpur JN -Ajmer Jn - Train - 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM - 5.5 hr
Or Rajsthan State transport volvo bus [ which ever faster]
Check in hotel, visit around Ajmer

Day 7:
Visit pushkar, come back to Ajmer JN station

Ajmer JN- Jaipur - Train - 3:30 PM to 5:45 PM - 2hr - Arrive Jaipur in the evening
Check in hotel near to airport

Day 8:
Early morning flight to kolkata from Jaipur

Budget ( for two)
Plane + Train = 17500 RS
Other cab / rickshaw / Taxi - 3000 RS
Camel safari - 4000 RS [ still not sure]
Hotel = 1000 RS per day. Max 8000 RS
Food = 500 RS per day. Max 5000 RS
Entrance fees/ other tour/ misc fare - 3000 RS

Total budget : 40000 RS Max for two
I had initial budget of 15K per person. But taking a plane ride round trip exceeding my budget.

My query:
1) Is the above plan feasible for a week tour?
2) Do I need to book any trains in advance or I can purchase tickets after arriving station. I do have an online account of ICRTC where I can purchase tickets online. But it takes few more charges including card charge. If trains are available then I won’t need to buy online.
3) Should I book all hotels before starting my journey or just booking up to Agra hotels would be enough? If budget hotel/ guest houses are not available at last time then I can book hotel in advance
4) For staying in budget hotel, local foods is above budget enough for two people?
I have been able to track down plane and train fares but others still not fully confirmed.

1. Your plan seems okay. If Taj Mahal is the only place you want to see in Agra move to Bharatpur on the same day.
2. My suggestion would be don't be penny wise and pound foolish. Book your train tickets in advance.
3. If you are prepared to see the rooms first and then decide I would suggest not the prebook in advance.
4. Budget is something that if it has been decided you will have to stick to it and compromise on some things.
