| Rajasthan (14 nights) I'm curious what your thoughts are on the following. Would there be any adjustments worth making to try and spend 2 days in varanasi? 11/16 - arrive delhi 11/17 - delhi 11/18 - morning train to agra (taj, red fort), overnight train to jaipur 11/19 - jaipur 11/20 - jaipur, car/train to jodhpur 11/21 - jodhpur 11/22 - jodphur, overnight train to jaisalmer 11/23 - jaisalmer 11/24 - jaisalmer, overnight camel trek 11/25 - jaisalmer 11/26 - jaisalmer, flight or overnight train to udaipur 11/27 - udaipur 11/28 - udaipur 11/29 - udaipur 11/30 - evening flight to delhi, fly home around 1am |

| Delhi, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Delhi. The above works much better if you're using overnight trains. (Agra - Udaipur = overnight train from Bharatpur, Bharatpur is 55 kms from Agra or 25 kms from Fathepur Sikri) If you do choose this option, I'd recommend you use the daytime train from Jaisalmer to Jodhpur. See train info thread below for details of trains, and overnight v's daytime info. |

| Based purely on looking at a map, the route you suggested seems like it backtracks quite a bit. What about... Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, delhi (via jodhpur)? Is it too ambitious to include Varanasi in the mix? Would it be worth cutting Jaipur to include Varanasi? |

| Varanasi is 'way out of your way on a visit to Rajasthan; it depends on what you are willing to give up for it. |

Then you can continue your travel as you mentioned but you don't so many nights in Jaisalmer and in Udaipur. So just skip one night from Jaisalmer and one night from Udaipur. I hope this information will you. Thanks. Rajuindia.

| What is so great about Varnasi? I have heard from plenty of Indians who went there and were disappointed. |

There is a thread in the Varanasi forum, I'm sure it's a sticky at the top of the forum, I think it's called 'Varanasi off he beaten track', have a look through it.
