Question re: tour operators
Question re: tour operators
Hi-
I'm thinking about putting together an India tour, mainly, but not exclusively, in Delhi, Rajasthan, and Veranasi. I wonder if anyone has used either Namaste India Tours or Rajuindia also known as Incredible Real India as tour packagers? If so, I'd appreciate any comments (good or bad). Also, if you have other recommendations, I'd appreciate them too. Thanks.

We haven't used either of them, but were very impressed with Indian Panorama/South Tourism, who we used to organise a short and fiddly part of our last trip. We only used them for a two day portion (the only bit we used a tour op for at all), but they could not have been better - will definitely go back to them if ever we need a tour operator in future.
They can be contacted at
www.indianpanorama.in or www.india-tour-package.com or www.tourism-southindia.com
We worked with Bhaskar in the Madurai office who was great, and we also dropped into the Madurai office and met other people, too. Based on what we saw, he reflected the ethos of 'customer first' that the whole company has - I'm pretty certain it would be the same whichever of the team was working with you to set up your visit.

I've used Namaste India Tours for airport pickup and hotel and they were excellent. Friends used them for a Rajasthan tour and said it went well but it was a few years ago and I don't remember everything they said. I'd say to go for it!
I guess it depends on what you want the tour for - a mid-sized group of people or just a couple, what sort of budget you have for this and, how long you have to spend in India.
Tour groups can be good if you are pushed for time and don't have the luxury of being able to stroll around and find things by hit/miss or haven't got the time to do all the research and get transport bookings made to get you from A=B=C.
Generally, they are not cheap to go through. So if cost is not a factor, then go for it.
Cheers

Namaste India Tours comes highly recommended on this website. However, I've emailed them twice now with no response for over a week. I will be going to India with my wife in August and I cannot afford to wait forever. We plan to visit Delhi/Agra and possibly the northern regions of Ladakh. Can anybody else recommend a good tour company in this region?
