Question about Delhi Agra Mathura Vrindavan Jaipur Travel

Hi All, Best wishes!!

We will reach New Delhi in morning around 9:00-10:00am. Then we will proceed to visit Agra-Mathura-Jaipur for about 6 days. And then will come back in New Delhi for 5 days with 1 day trip to Haridwar/Hrishikesh. I already found a loads of information from the threads here. I have few questions to ask:

1. Our plan
1st Day - New Delhi to Mathura/Vrindavan and stay there
2nd Day - Visit Mahtura / Vrindavan in Morning and then proceed to Agra. Visit Agra fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
3rd Day - Taj at dawn and then go to Jaipur
4th Day - Jaipur visit whole day and go to Jodhpur/Udaipur
5th day - Visit Jodhpur/Udaipur and Proceed to Bikaner
6th Day - Visit Bikaner and in evening come back to Delhi

Is it a plausible thing to do considering we will have small kid and old but able parents?

2. We will rent a car in N.Delhi to proceed to Agra and Jaipur. Should we rent the car for all 5/6 days or we just drop the car when we reach a place and get a new rental when we move from one place to other.

4. We need a car for 5 people and should be A/C. What will be reasonable charges for a car considering all 5/days or for single day charges?

Thank you.

I feel your jodhpur/Udaipur and Bikaner in two days look a little stressed...otherwise its ok.

Ideally you should have one night each in Jodhpur, udaipur and Bikaner...its best to have a vehicle for the entire trip, ideally a SUV Scorpio,Innova or Qualis.

I have used a very good driver last week with a Qualis for a Himalayan trip with two small kids...His name is Gurlabh Singh recommended by an IMer, he is getting married soon and don't know will be available or not.

His mobile number is 9968422029...you may take my name (Kaushik from Gurgaon)

Good that you pointed out. We do not have enough days, so if you have to suggest to drop one from Udaipur/Jodhpur/Bikaner, which one it will be? Which two among those three are must?

What is an "IMer"?

Thank you for Gurlabh's information. We will try to reach him before we start for New Delhi next month.

Thank you for suggestion. I regret for not doing Bikaner and Jaisalmer, but you cannot eat the cake and have it always too.

So we change our plan like this:

1st Day - New Delhi to Mathura/Vrindavan by car and stay there
2nd Day - Visit Mahtura / Vrindavan in Morning and then proceed to Agra. Visit Agra fort and Fatehpur Sikri.
3rd Day - Taj at dawn and then go to Jaipur
4th Day - Jaipur visit whole day and go to Jodhpur
5th day - Visit Jodhpur and stay there.
6th Day - Proceed to Udaipur and visit Lake city. Evening back to New Delhi.

Any more change/alteration?

Its 14-15 hrs drive from Udaipur to Delhi...might be difficult at one go...thus its suggested make a stopover in Ajmer for a day and visit Ajmer Sharif if possible.

Journey from Udaipur to New Delhi

Koushik, Is it possible to journey from Udaipur to New Delhi in car overnight? Just wondering as if we stop over in Ajmer, we will really not have more than 2 days in New Delhi. The constraint is that our total travel days are only ten(10) and 1/2 and we want to keep 1 day for Haridwar/Hrishikesh and 3 days for New Delhi itself.

Yeah its possible on a overninght journey...it might just get a bit tiring...just ensure the driver gets enough sleep.

Cancelling Haridwar and Extending Jaipur Tour

Koushik, after considering the distances and everything, we are making one more change per your suggestion.

We are dropping Haridwar trip and extend a day stay in Ajmer. So, while back from Udaipur, we will stop at Ajmer for a day, and then we will be back to New Delhi.

I am sad because we are not sure what will be the next time we will be going to Delhi again, but making it in haste is not worth too.

Can you send your e-mail id at susanta_nj at yahoo dot com if you have no objection in doing so?

Thanks again for the detailed help.

- Susanta
