Pushkar - Jaipur planes, trains, automobiles

Hi Mikeys

It was going to be my plan to leave Pushkar (well Ajmer) on the 0755 train to Jaipur on 6th Jan, spend stay one night and take an internal flight back to Mumbai on 7th (I'm leaving for London on 8th)

Now I'm wondering if i could get a taxi in the morning from Pushkar-Jaipur on 7th for my flight at 2pm thus missing a night in Jaipur.

Does anyone have any idea how long it would take by car?

Or does anyone have any genius ideas of how to get from Pushkar to Mumbai without going to Jaipur? I have nothing against Jaipur it's just that i'm already cramming a lot into 3 weeks and i hope to retun to India and spend more time in Jaipur.

From Pushkar to Jaipur the taxi will take around Two and half hour.
You can book the taxi in Pushkar from different travel agencies in the market here.

If you will consider the train, there are trains from Ajmer to Mumbai, including a fast cheapie, with good timings, the journey is still 15 hours though.
Ajmer is very close to Pushkar, about 30-40 minutes by bus.

To be on the safe side (puncture, road hold ups etc.) I would leave by 8a.m. at the latest. But then I'm super-cautious! You would certainly make it for that flight. Give yourself arrival time early to airport - for domestic flights I think the check in is one and a half hours prior to flight? Someone with more recent knowledge can clarify. Jaipur is not a heavy trafffic airport, so hold ups with checking in, security stuff etc. should be at a minimum.
