It depends on how many stops you'll make between Goa and Kerala, and how much time you'll stay in any of those places.
Try printing out a blank calendar and pencil in your stops and figure out how many nights in each ... and you'll soon see if you have taken on too much.

If you are travelling next month (October?) you may find that train availability has to be taken into account in your route planning. Festivals such as Diwali in November create huge demand for seats and you might find trains fully booked.
What do you want to see and do while you are in India? If you list your top priorities a route will start to appear. India is huge. You could spend years there and still not see everything. If you enjoy India you will want to go back. If you don't enjoy it spending 25% of your time on trains probably won't make it any better.

The inconvenience caused is deeply regretted.

Your trip will most probably depend on availability of train tickets as Dave mentioned in the previous post. You also have the possibility of FTQ. The downside of that is not all trains have FTQ and not all classes are available under FTQ.
Traveling by bus inside a state is possible. For example Agra-Jaipur, Jaipur-Jodhpur, Udaipur-Ahmedabad can be done by bus. The travel time would be around 6 hours.
