Planning trip out of Delhi July 12 to avoid monsoon floods

Hi all,

We'll be landing in Delhi on July 12th at 2 pm. We've read in the news about the possiblity of flooding in the city so we're thinking of getting out of the city quickly.

Because of the flooding in Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh (all of the areas we were planning on heading to !!) we're looking at heading south to Hampi/Kerala. Not sure what shape the roads and transportation networks are going to be in - and we want to avoid flying to keep costs down.

Any suggestions on how to head south by bus from Delhi (it looks like we might be hemmed in), other areas we might consider traveling to, or any advice on areas to avoid because of heavy monsoon rains?

I have to leave tonight by Rajdhani train from Baroda with a travel company who has been assuring us that there is hardly any problem at any of the places and that it is absolutely safe to travel.
I am having doubts.

Can any one advice before we board the train?
