Hmmm... looks doable('ish) I guess. It's always hard to say, these lists of placenames always make me dizzy
![]() For Udaipur-Mumbai, I'd look into a bus to Ahmedabad and a bus/train from there to Mumbai. You don't need that detour. There may be direct (bus) connections even, I think its rail connectivity has also improved but I'm not sure what the deal is. Others may have the lowdown. ps There look to be train connections with a layover in either Kota or Ahmedabad, lengthy stops though making it not a quick route. 23,5-28,5 hours; see http://www.indiagroove.com/ , check results with the official site at http://www.indianrailways.gov.in/ . I'm guessing a bus at least till A'bad would be the far quicker and easier route. Trains Udaipur-Jodhpur meanwhile seem to take forever (21-26 hrs.! taking a long detour), so you'd likely be on a bus anyway; while Jodhpur-Mumbai by train looks to be another 17 hrs. at the very least, more like 20+. A direct train A'bad-Mumbai seems to be just 7-9,5 hrs. though. So yes, bus it there.

Hey, thanks for the tip.
I changed the plans a little bit because i think it woud be a little bit to much train-travelling. I left out Jaislamar and Johdpur. So i going straight from Jaipur to Udaipur. Stay there for 2 days Then i take a train to Ahmedabad. We stay there for a day or 2 and then we'll take a flight to goa (low cost flight, only 2000 rupees). we'll stay there for 5-6 days and then take the nighttrain to Mumbai to meet some friends and take the plane home. Thanks again! Elise |

Sounds a lot more relaxed yes
![]() Mind you I'd exchange Jodhpur for Jaipur any day but that's just me. Should be doable I think. But anyway just follow your own route. Train Udaipur-A'bad looks OK yes from what I can find, around 9-12 hrs. Bus could be quicker but this might be comfier. Have a nice trip! |
