Planning my Honeymoon in Sikkim in 3rd week of Feb 2009. Please advise

Hello

I am planning to go to Sikkim on my Honeymoon. Tentatively i would reach NZP on the morning of 16th feb 2009 from kolkata. I would like to be there for 7-8days.

I do not know much about the state and the places there. What I have heard are Gangtok, Tchangu lake, Nathula Pass Pelling, Lachung,etc.

I am confused as to how shud i plan the trip. Would North Sikkim be tooo cold at that time as to that the roads and all might be closed due to snowfall??

Please advise. Budget is not a constraint and also i would like to have a personal vehicle instead of sharing it with others.

Hi niraj26a , Feb is a very good time to visit sikkim. from NJP u can either visit darjeeling , stay there for a day and travel to Gangtok by hiring taxi or private car. Gangtok is nice place to hang around. You can take a day trip to NAthula and chhangu lake. Next day spend it for local sight seeing. Next i would suggest you to take a package tour of 3 days 2 nights (Gurudongmar- Yumthang). yumthang wud have snow all around. gurudongmar is at 18000 alti . dont miss these places. hope my post wud be ahelp for u.
