You can travel on your own in those cities; a guided tour is not necessary. You will be surrounded often by "touts" -- the most important word to know is NO!

In Jaipur (and maybe in Agra), you will be approached by people offering you great deals on precious stones; unless you know gemstones, again, the important word is NO! There are a lot of scams there and we don't want you to be victims.
