Okay, Ideas for Bangladore to Delhi? Need a great itinerary!
Hi,
So my husband and I are planning our round the world trip. We are in our early 30's, planning to go cheap. We will be traveling in June of next year and plan to stay in India for 2 to 3 weeks. We plan to fly into Bangladore from Sri Lanka. We want to end up in Delhi. Other then that we are pretty open, from what I have been reading I think I would like to hit Goa, and Hospet/Hampi and obviously the Taj. Orginally I was thinking of flying straight from Bangladore to Delhi, but I think we would miss most of India. I am open to trains or a combo of train/flight. I am very open to advise from the experts. I have 21 countries to plan and would love some great advise on the best way to go and how to get there in India. It would be much appreciated!! I know this is a great country it just seems so big and a little overwhelming. Thanks again in advance. |

Itinerary Bangalore to Delhi.
Greetings and welcome.
You'll have to take seasonal factors into account. The monsoon arrives in Goa in June bringing around 70 cms of rain in that one month. Inland Karnataka is in a rain shadow so is less affected and a visit to Hampi is possible. I would suggest visiting Mysore, Hampi, and Bijapur. Then take the train from Sholapur (on the main line north of Bijapur) to Agra and do the Golden Triangle route. Be advised that the monsoon arrives in that area (Delhi,Agra, Jaipur) at the very end of June before which temperatures are around 40C every day! It's not the best time to travel in India but that shouldn't deter the determined traveller. Good Luck. |

Since you are going to so many countries, please see if you could re-schedule the India visit for a different time of the year. A better time would be between September and February. June is going to be too hot (40C or higher) in many parts.

Slight change...
Hi,
I agree to the point that you are going to miss most of India if you take this route. I suggest you take a flight to Thiruvananthapuram from Colombo. SriLankan Airlines has daily flights. So you get to Cover KERALA State, which is one of the best destinations in India. Then You can go to Bangalore by Train, there are many connections.(http://www.indianrail.gov.in/) From Bangalore you can plan to visit Mumbai If you wish even GOA is nearby from there. Volvo Buses &Trains are cheaper modes. Then While visiting delhi, please make a point to check out the Himalayan Attractions like Shimla or Darjeeling etc. |
