northern india in 6 weeks

hello!!!
we're trying to plan a whistle stop tour.....

starting from jaigoan (bhutanese border)
sikkim
darjeeling
siliguri (just because we have to...)
varanasi
delhi
udaipur
ramsakand (we have to look at a stone factory - necessary)
Mt Abu
Jodhpur
Jaisalmer
Delhi
Gaya (actually bodhgaya...and we plan 2 weeks here)
varanasi
gorakhpur
kushinagar
shravasti
lumbini
kathmandu!!!

possible? how long in each place? ways and means?? connections?? is there a better route??

possible.
how long would differ from place to place.
best means is over night trains. sometimes bus/jeep.
route you chose can be improved vastly. do you have to follow a particular order??

Singsub is right, there is room for improvement. e.g. why Varanasi twice? Some more information might be necessary.

Are you scheduling all this around a meditaion class in Bodh Gaya? If not, there are certainly routes that will not involve doubling back to Varanasi.

You could get to Lumbini from Delhi, I believe, and then your other Nepalese stops.

Rushed. If travelling mainly by road/rail, that will eat up a lot of time.
But you did say whistlestop.

And, to echo everybody else, why Varanasi twice? If later, you could fly direct to Delhi from the East/North East.
