North or South?

Hi!
This is quite a general question but my problem right now is where to get a flight to for a trip this summer for August and the first half of september: Dehli or Chennai? If we go to Dehli the plan would be to head north towards Leh and Ladakh but not sure what the weather will be like then. Someone told me it's worth considering Chennai cos it would be less humid and there's a bit more variety i.e. mountains and beach, plus temples etc.. Is Chennai going to be very wet? Are the mountains in the north going to be shrouded in cloud? Any advice would be great.
Thanks a lot!
Jay

Hi, and welcome to IndiaMike.

For a general overview of the weather, you can try this whole thread: India climate chart

There would be rains in Chennai in September, but honestly Chennai is not that great a tourist destination, not much to see around here. I would head to Leh and Ladakh instead. When you are in Delhi you have so many options nearby, Uttarkhand, Rajasthan, Himachal, Kashmnir, Ladakh etc...

Touch down in Delhi and go to Leh. Other north Indian mountain destinations will have rains. The plains of north India also have rains and begin to cool down from September. After your Leh trip you can think of visiting Rajasthan.
