nervous about diwali noise in kerala

i have planned a last minute trip meandering from trivandrum to pune. my first time in the south. i travel cheaply, but quietly and cleanly. love nature over cities.

from nov 3rd to nov 14th.

as i read these forums i'm learning that diwali will be very noisy. i love quiet : )

any tips on a great itinerary which avoids the fireworks?

is it possible and see backwaters, hill stations, beaches?

also, will there be any rooms?

thanks!

Diwali isn't celebrated much in Kerala so you don't have to worry. Should be very quiet!

Thumbs up deepavali in kerala

Unheard of in Kerala. Crackers are generally burst only during temple festivals like in Trichur puram, then you better run! Go ahead and have a great time now that the monsoons are also over.

not much

While there are firecrackers during diwali, as others have pointed out, it is quie non-existent in Kerela. If you are that concerned do not go out after dusk when the fireworks are peak.
