need help in choosing places (north india)

Hi

I am planning to visit some places in north India. i got say 14 days i.e from 19th dec 2009 to 1st jan 2010.
I have been googling to try to come up with the list but totaly confused

guys, can you help me with this?

You need to be more specific for forum members to respond...

What are your interests - mountains, deserts, rivers, forests, historical places, religious places ?

Unless you provide these and other relevant pointers forum members may not be able to give you relevant inputs...other than point you to do a search on IM...

You don't need to follow that exact format, but it will give you some ideas.

Beyond that, some preliminary research will help you, and not just on the web either, where you'll likely be flooded with information. Get a hold of some decent guidebooks; maybe from the library and for free, just to compare (or there may be second-hand ones, or friends may have some to read, or...)

Then when you've pinned down some options that attract you, members will obviously be in a far better position to comment on those; whereas just asking "where shall I go in north India" you'll get as many personal and possibly spurious preferences as there are members here. (Well, save for the many who just won't bother to answer.)

I see your point

the fact is I never posted anything till now in IM for that matter anywhere

Ok some of the places I am really interested
- Rajasthan (jaipur, jothpur)
- In and around daramsala

What I was searching is to get some idea on how many days to spend in those places and the mode of traveling, of course budget.

Let me see if I can get something from IM
