need advice - delhi city

Hi,
i will be visiting delhi on last week of june by morning flight
i have free time from 9 am to 5 pm , then i have to catch shabti
express to chandigarh , please advice me what are all the places i can cover in delhi (only delhi, for agra i have separate plan on the way back) , we are 4 adults and 2 children .

1. Is there any tour operator avilable in the airport itself
so that we can get a qualis or safari for the day and we can be dropped in the railway station in the evening to catch our train.

2. or shall i proceed to railway station , and deposit our luggages there, then start for a local visit, is it advisable

since our travel time to reach delhi through flight will be only 2.5hrs i dont thing a rest needed for our family, i dont want to
waste our time simply for the whole day from 9 to 5 pm.

thanks

As you're going to be pushed for time, I'd first find out how much the tour would cost from the airport.

If it's too expensive, hire a taxi for the day and get the driver to take you around to the main spots in Delhi and then drop you at the railway station.

The main places I'd suggest you see are Qtab Minar; Humayan's Tomb; Red Fort; not so keen on the Lotus Temple.

Cheers
Zoltan

agree with zoltans spots.

And, time permitting, Lodhi Garden, drive down Rajpath.

Alternative, Dilli Haat.

Search this forum. Many such queries and info here.

Take a pre-paid cab to New delhi station and deposit your luggage in the cloak room. Take metro to Chandni Chowk.... Red fort and Jama Masjid are in walking distance.
Take metro again to Central Secratariat.... India gate is again walking distance.
