Munnar to Wayanad

How long does it take to drive/travel between Munnar and Wayanad. Is it best to hire a driver? Should we break the journey and stay overnight somewhere? Is it advisable to go Munnar to Wayanad? Any advice would be appreciated for this first time visitor to India.

Hi,

You could do it in the following way for comfort !

Munnar to Ernakulam Jn [ Car / Bus 4 Hours journey]
Ernakulam Jn to Calicut Jn [ By Train]
Calicut Jn to Kalpetta [ Main town in Wayanad] [ Cab / Bus 3 Hours Journey]

If you want to break your journey , you could do it Ernakulam / Cochin !

Travelling end-to-end in Car will be tiresome and is not really needed !!

Thank you Velu for the info. We may have to reconsider because of travelling time. Still Wayanad looks like it might be worth the effort.

Nicola1,

If you want to go to Wayanad, go there first and then go to Munnar.

IMHO, if you go to Munnar and then to Wayanad, you are likely to be thoroughly disappointed.
