Mumbai to New Delhi Itinerary advice needed.

I'm leaving for india in just over 2 weeks. This will be my first trip there but I will be with my Mom and Dad who have been there 6 or 7 times before.

I've put together the attached itinerary (see PDF file) and I'm looking for some comments and feedback regarding it. Most importantly I need advice as to:

How best to get from city to city. Please be as specific as possible.
Where to stay in the cities once we get there. We're looking for the greatest value for the cheapest price.
Additional sites/experiences/eating establishments worthwhile within the cities. Things that shouldn't be missed.

I know these destinations for the most part are quite popular so I'm hoping this thread will become useful for others as well. Thanks to all who view and respond to this thread in advance.

Hi there

Your trip looks good. The only suggestion was to perhaps do more road journey like the Golden traingle.
Also since I am from Delhi, I know that cab guys charge you a heck. Have you done the cab bookings yet. Do bargain a lot when booking your cab and better to book in advance because at that stage you kinda get helpless.

Also in Delhi, do go to Delli Haat. I am sure you will like it a lot.

I noticed you included the Palace on Wheels under Rajasthan. As far as I know, this is a one week round trip from Delhi train, which is also very expensive. But, if you can afford it and have the time, would be unforgettable. http://www.thepalaceonwheels.com/schedule-tariff.html Prices are at the bottom. I think this probably would need to be booked ahead well in advance anyway.

Be sure to include Fatepur Sikri when in Agra (unless your parents have seen it already). I like it enough to go more than once!
