Hello!
I am 26, female, traveling alone. I have been in Mumbai for 2 weeks and have decided to move on... would like to make it up to Dharamsala, then back to Mumbai. Would like to see Jaipur, Udaipur, Agra and Varanasi. Any suggestions on the best route? Any suggestions on where to stay are also appreciated (cheapish but safety is number one.)
Thank you!

Well how much time you have at your disposal? Seems like a lot of places in North India you may have to drop one or two. The best place is to start with Jaipur (http://www.ixigo.com/search/result/f...92009//1/0/0/e ) flights are avialable for Jaipur which are less than Rs 2000. Otherwise take a train (check erail.in for schedules)to Jaipur. After Jaipur can move towards Agra. From Agra take a train to Varanai or Mughal sarai. From varanasi take a train to Chakki bank. Take a bus to dharamshala. While returning take a bus from dharamshala to delhi and take Mumbai Rajdhani from Delhi to Mumbai.

Do you want to travel by train ? Or one or two flights will do ?

I would like to do some train, but flying a bit would be fine too. I'm thinking maybe Mumbai-Jaipur, staying there for 2-3 days, then on to Dharamsala. Any suggestions on the best way to get to Dharamsala? I would be skipping Udaipur on that route... is that a huge mistake? Or is it sort of on the way? Then from Dharamsala back down to Agra, Varanasi and Varanasi back to Mumbai. I have no real interest in Delhi, but imagine I'll have to travel through.
Thank you soo much!

Why not include Udaipur too

Mumai - Udaipur by flight - Stay 2 days
Udaipur - Jaipur - By Train - Stay 2/3 days
Jaipur - Chakki Bank by train no. 2413 - Overnight
Chakki Bank to Dharamshala - By bus/share taxi - 3 Hrs.
Dharamshala - 3 Days
Dharamshala - Ambala by bus
Ambala - Agra by train no. 8238 7-8 Hrs.
Agra - 2 Days
Agra - Varanasi - By train
Varanasi- Mumbai - flight
