Mt. Abt, Ranakpur,Nardware,Kumbhalgarh
These are part of my new itinerary. .I have changed my plans for Jodphur, camel fair, Bundi, Rathamore, Jaipur for a Udaipur area tour at the last minute. I hoping this iitinerary has less touts and hassles than my prior. Truly I have no idea of what to see or how to organize this quick trip. Please help!
I more interested in the feeling of a place than the actual site. I expect to hire a driver for the this trip but I may just hire as needed since I will never be going very far. Welcome recommendation of a driver. My new proposed itinerary: November 12 12pm arrive Udaipur and Eklingi November 13th half day in siteseeing in Udaipur Then to Mt Abu November 14 Day in Mt Abu and Ranakpur November 15 + 16 In Kumbhalgarh November 17 till 10 or 11 in Kumbhalgarb then to Pushkar November 18th Pushkar to Ajmer by 15:20 for !5: 50 train to Jaipur My goals Maximum of 5 temples 2 forts 3 palaces 1 ashram Yes, this is a joke but not that far off the mark. If you can fill in what I should see at each place or change destinations or sequence of destinations I would be very happy and if possible please recommend hotels. My Background For these purposes, I am a male 42-year-old mountain biker. My budget is flexible. I have taught Yoga, had an Ashram and have studied Zen Buddhism through sitting. I would like to stay at beautiful positive Ashram for a day but, definitely not a seeker. Will probably be in India only this once and wanted to get an impression of the country. Hi there.
Mt Abu is a really pleasant place, but will be pretty chilly this time of year. The highlights of the area are the Jain temples, which are fabulous, and walking. The Sri Ganesh Guesthouse is quite a pleasant place to stay, and caters specifically for western tourists. I think Udaipur is worth more than a half day sightseeing, and is a really wonderful place. The view of the Lake Palace (from the City Palace) is one of the finest in the world, let alone 'just' in India. It is an especially good place to be for an evening meal and/or breakfast. Pushkar is a very pleasant place to hangout, chill out and stuff, although I imagine it might be a little different during camel fair time. I hope this helps. Rob
