Mid October : Kashmir or Jaipur?
Hi there. My sister and I are going on our first trip to India on Oct 12. Sadly it's only for 7 days. We both want to visit Taj Mahal. After that, we can't decide where to go next.
I vote for Jaipur but my sis isn't really into Indian history and architecture. (She's a fanatic about Chinese and used to lived in China for almost a year.) She likes lakes and mountains though. Right now this is our itinerary. Day 1 : Arrive in Delhi Day 2 : Akra Day 3-6 : ?? Day 7 : Going back home My questions: 1. Which place is best to go in mid October, Jaipur or Kashmir? We'll come back for the other next time. 2. How much time should one spend in Akra? For someone who doesn't really keen on historical stuff, is Fatehpur Sikri and Baby Taj worth going? 3. My sister has a condition about her back. She takes medication but it can still be quite painful for her to sit still on a vehicle more than 4-5 hours. It's not terribly serious but we would like to avoid it as much as possible. Well, we have to be on an airplane to get to India to start with anyway. XD; Any useful tips to make our trip less hassle would be much appreciated. We can afford to spend some to make our trip comfortable. 4. If we choose Kashmir, we'll fly there for sure. But do we have enough time to cover Srinakar, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Solmarg? 5. I'd love to see some traditional dances while in India. Any suggestion please? Thank you, Pana |

Mid October Kashmir will be better but from Agra (not Akra) Jaipur will be nearer which will save your journey time.As a tourist interest 2 days are sufficient for Agra. Off course, Fatehpur Sikri is worth seeing.Fatehpur and Sikri are two different establishments.Fatehpur Sikri is on the way to Jaipur by car.If you want to go Kashmir then you have to come back to Delhi to take flight. At least 4 days are required to enjoy Kashmir.

If your sis has back problem i would suggest you can fly to khatmandu from there u can go to chitwan and pokra get to see lake and mountains amazing its a very safe and easy journey instead travelling for days as u dont have much time in your hand. Nepal is worth a look and if she has spend time in china and she is looking for some chinese culture I would say look into Nepal from delhi get a day tour to agra and fly to khatmandu. You can also take a mountain flight to everest which is mind blowing and will for sure make u wonder how can someone go all the way up there
cheers, have a safe journey |
