Manjeri - Bangalore-Puttaparthi

hi everyone.
I will be travelling on 5th Sat July to puttaparthi in my Alto from Manjeri.

I need some driving directions and help with road conditions.

1.)should i choose nilambur-nadukani-gudaloor-guldelpet Route OR Mukkam-thamarassery-Gundelpet route? I know shortest is through Nilambur. I am asking about road conditon. which is good? and which is safe?

2.)if i seach in mapmyindia.com and all, i get a route different from Mysore-bangalore route! should i choose that? is it better than mysore bangalore route? what is the road condition.

3.)about filling of petrol, which state gives the cheapest rate?

I would be happy if you could include the approx. distance from each place.

Shortest is through Nilambur, yes. As for road conditions, IMer Dimitrz had used the Nilambur route recently - he should be able to give a feedback I guess. You can find some discussions on the route options in his thread :

As for Question3, Cheapest fuel should be in Kerala.

Wayanad route should be ok as far as road quality goes - except for some stretches in the ghat section and immediately after the Karnataka border, the roads are usually quite good. The Ghat section is prone to minor landslides and fallen trees blocking the road etc in rainy season. ( the Nadugani ghat is equally prone to weather related blockages as well. )
