Manali - Leh by jeep in 10-11 days

Hi,

I am aware that this is not a commercial forum, however can anyone recommend a reliable and quality jeep tour operator for a tour starting in Manali?

There seems to be that every second guesthouse/hotel is also a travel agent, so please advise on the good ones.

Thank you

You will probably pay more than others if you require the car to be of the brand Jeep. Any offroad 4x4 vehicle should be sufficient.

i JonBen,

Thank for your comment. I do not need a luxury landrover, however I surely want a well maintained vehicle with good engine, breaks, tires and battery. Nothing is worse than having a breakdown and waste hours, or even have an accident due to lack of maintenance.

I don't knoow if you are familiar with the horror stories of Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia? Yes, I paid more for my tour there but our driver was not drunken and we did not have a single breakdown on our 4 days. But we saw a number of broken vehicles and the memorial plates of those killed.
I strongly believe you get what you pay for (at leasst in general).

Then specify the quality of the vehicle rather than the brand. Also the features. The old Jeep Wrangler came with a soft top roof. Do you fancy that?

Also, consider specifying a car with Air Condition even though it will cost extra.

You do not need to specify Jeep not to get Landrover, there are Japanese brands and even the local Indian brand Tata. (do not confuse Tata with Tatra).

I am not familiar with those horror stories. You will probably pay more the more demands you raise for the vehicle.

If you specify Jeep you might think

or

But you might get this from India
