Lucknow, Varanasi & Allahabad in 5 days

I've got this rather ambitious plan to travel between Lucknow, Varanasi and Gaya in 5 days. I've got the photography bug and am hoping to get some good views in those towns. Would appreciate any advice on the itinerary. Where to go first. Where to stay. Are 3 cities in 5 day even possible? O should i cut one out. Not a big fan of the guided package tour thing either when it comes to cities and towns.

What is your starting point? Is it Delhi? If so - you can use trains as the train connection between Delhi, Varanasi and Gaya is good. You could start from Delhi to Luchnow by overnight train, explore the city and than catch an overnight train to Varanasi. Varanasi worth at least 2 days or even more. As the distance between Varanasi and Gaya is only 250 km and there is lots of trains there, you can move from Varanasi to Gaya any time. Back to Delhi I would use an overnight train again BUBNESWR RJDHNI for example, as it's fast.

Hey thanks!. I'll be starting from Lucknow though. I'm definitely going to try and stay for 2 days in Varanasi!
