Looking for some itinerary advice

Hello All, I will be in India from December 14th to January 1st. I know, over the busiest travel time. I am flying into Delhi and am looking for some itinerary advice. Options-
Exploring Rajastahn for 2 weeks and then taking a side trip to Varnassi.

Flying South and spending a week or so in Kerala and then heading back up North to a few spots in Rahastahn and then back to Delhi.

I really want to explore an area and not be rushing around on planes so I am concerned that my second option is too tight.
What are some top picks in Rahastahn? Is it reasonable to spend two and a half weeks there? I am concerned about it being packed out with tourists this time of year.

Yes, I think option 1 is more sensible.
Spend one day in Delhi and then move on to Varanasi (2 days), then onto Agra for Taj Mahal (you don't wanna miss it, right?) and Fathepur Sikri (keep 2 days for Agra).
If you want to relax, maybe you can spend one day in Bharatpur Bird Santuary, or staright to Jaipur. Here is the rough itinetary for Rajasthan:
Jaipur (2days)
Bikaner (1 day)
Jaiselmer (2days)
Jodhpur (1day)
Udaipur (2 days) on the way to Udaipur try to stop at Ranakpur for the Jain temples.
From Udaipur take the train to Delhi and spend 1-2 days for shopping or flyout.
Keep few days for traveling and you still have 2-3 days buffer left, which you can use for spending extra day(s) at any place you like.
