Looking for adventure - two weeks in January

Hello

I have two weeks at the end of January to travel. I am interested in flying into Mumbai and taking it from there. I don't want to plan too much, but I would definitely would like to drive / bike to goa for a few days. Hoping I can get some good advice here. Looking to go off the beaten path - i like the desert, mountains and beach.

Any suggestions???

the "desert", "mountains" and "beach" are in 3 different parts of india. if you bike from mumbai to goa, will will get the beach and some mountain.

As Singsub says, no deserts near Mumbai / Goa! Beaches and low mountains abound. Hire a car and driver from Mumbai and set off to explore the beaches of the Konkan coast [check other threads for more details] at a leisurely pace. Proceeding south from Mumbai the beaches are on your west and the Western Ghats on your East. For mountain regions, you could visit Mahabaleshwar / Pratapgad enroute, or the Raigad fort, Amboli near the Goa border. From Goa, go see the Dudhsagar falls and the Dandeli sanctuary in nearby Karnataka. Lots more info in the relevant sections on this site. End Jan is perfect weather to explore these places.
