Ladakh-Kashmir June- July 2008
How does this sound for a 3 1/2 weeks? also does anyone other than Indian Air fly between Leh and Sringar? Thanks!
1. Arrive in Delhi 2. Train from Delhi to Shimla. 3. Shimla to Manali by bus or rented taxi 4. Manali to Leh by rented jeep 5. Leh (spend around a week) 6. fly from Leh to Sringar 7. spend about a week around Sringar and Kashmir-maybe a houseboat 8. fly back to Delhi from Sringar 8. take train for a day to Taj mahal |

My advice, skip Shimla and don’t fly to Leh! The road trip between Manali and Leh is on the most enjoyable part of the trip to Ladakh and skipping it shouldn’t be done unless you are really short on time! Heck I would recommend spending only 2-3 days in Kashmir and devoting rest to Ladakh, there is just too much to see and do there!
