Kumbakonam or Thanjavur

Hello there,

I will be spending 4 days in the area and was wondering which is the best place to sleep and go for daily trips to see the surroundings. thanks for your help-

I'll choose Kumbakonam because from there you can easily visit Dharasuram, Gangaikondacholapuram, Chidambaram, Thanjavur and even other places not so famous like: Swamimalay, Thiruvaivaru, Thirubuvanam, Vaitisvarankoil and Taramgambadi.
