Hi there,

My husband and I are traveling to India the last two weeks of March. Our potential itinerary includes: Delhi, Agra, Chandrashilla (the 3 day hike) and Kerala.

Good time of year for Kerala?

Good time for trekking?

We want hiking and water, so are open to any and all suggestions.

I would love to go to Lakshadweep but just don't think we have the time but can be persuaded

Thanks!

All that in two weeks, hm? How do you plan to move between the lot?

On weather conditions, check (all of) this thread: India climate chart

I've been worried about it being too much for two weeks! We would be in Delhi and then take some day trips, including Taj, with pals from Delhi for three days, then Chanrdrashilla for three days. This will be followed by Kerala for a week.

I am interested in opinions because we really want to enjoy it and not feel overwhelmed by the travel aspect part.

Thoughts?

Sorry - forgot to say that we will be flying to Kerala from Delhi. The rest will be driving with our friends from Delhi.

I find it difficult to say; I just don't travel this way.

Having your pals escorting you around Delhi should be fine I guess, they'll know how to get around. Flight to Kerala, sure, can be done.

I have trouble pinning down this Chandrashilla. Am I right thinking this is in Sikkim? That's a long way out again. Flight to Bagdogra would be your best bet I think. Or alternatively, hit the mountains just north of Delhi -- if that makes it more feasible at all.

Lakshadweep I think you can forget about on a trip like this, or you'd have to shuffle it around again.
