Kailash Manas sarovar Yatra - advice needed
I want to do a Kailash Manas sarovar Yatra this year. But won't be able to do it through Indian Govt. I need to do it through any of the private tour operator. Can some one please suggest one good private tour operator for Kailash Yatra? Thanks in advance.

We are doing the kailash manasa sarovar yatra this year 2009, july first week. we are not doing through govt route. we are doing through (kailashtours.com).
Thankyou
May shiva fullfill your wish,
Best wishes.
indian government takes u from a long route,u will have to treck a long route to cross over to chineese border from uttranchal hills.treck is risky, high altitude area with hell lot of rains and land slides, private tour operators will take u to kailash mansarover through tibet if u arrive in lasha by air or if u opt for nepal they will drive u through nepal, then u will treck a small distance on foot to cross the nepal tibet border and there 4 wheel drive vehicles will be waiting for u to take u to kailash mansarover.
vehicles go right upto the kailash hill now but u will have to travel thru tibet/nepal which is only possible with private tour operators, moreover indian government conduct a medical fitness test on prospective piligrims and to ur surprise u may fail the test as most of we urban people dont have good enough health to scale high hills.
but with private tour operators u dont need any health test as they will simply drive u upto the destination hill so its more comfortable and more safe.
i hope this helps.
BOL BUM BHOLE.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra...
Hi,
With due respect and subject to correction i would like tell about the information which i gathered from my experience.
My elder brother visited Kailash Mansarovar by the trek route conducted by the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India in 2005.
I accompanied him upto Delhi where all the formalities and medical check up was done. I spent 3days with the Kailash yatris in Delhi.
It was a great experience. The medical check up is not so tough and it is generally declares a person unfit if he has some severe diseases like high blood pressure, high sugar level, pulmonary problem, etc. I saw many yatris were above 60 years old and they were declared fit for the journey. The ITBP doctors conduct this check up.
I also talked with a travel agent in Kolkata as a second plan if my brother's name is not selected in the lottery of yatris. The informations i got from them was that they will take pilgrims from katmandu by car and will cross the tibet border. The route is over the Tibetian plateau. But one will miss the scenic beauty here compared to the trek route through Kumayon. Although the pilgrims will have to trek for 3 days for Kailash Parvat parikrama as the it is not motorable.
Both routes are fine. Now it depends on the person, which would be suitable for him/her.
