Jun 08: Delhi-Agra-Ladakh... Srinagar? Amritsar?

Hello all...

Gonna be embarking on my virgin trip to Incredible India in a few days' time... Woo hoo~

Will be exploring the following areas on my own...

Jun 03-05: Delhi -> Agra -> Delhi
Jun 17-23: Leh -> Srinagar? -> Amritsar? -> Delhi

Need some advice from the veteran travellers here...

(1) is it easy to get an express train ticket to Delhi/Agra or must I prebook fr the internet way before departure date?

(2) is it safe to travel from Leh to Srinagar alone via public transport (bus? taxi?)?

(3) how do I get to Amritsar from Srinagar? (there's no direct flight or train or bus service that I know of...)

(4) is 7 days enough to Leh->Srinagar->Amritsar?

Oh ya, don't mind meeting other travellers (especially shutterbugs!) who happened to be in the area in the above period too... =)

1. Prebook the ticket from Delhi to Agra, there are many trains but its hard to get seats at the last minute.

2. There are a lot of people in this forum who have done that route and I don't think anyone ever mentioning about it being unsafe. Kashmir is pretty safe, I am traveling to Srinagar in the second week of June. If you are going alone, then public transport is the safest option.

4. 7 days not enough. If you want to cover all places thoroughly, you need more than that, 3-4 days Leh, 4 days in and around Srinagar and maybe 1 day in Amritsar and then days for traveling. I'd say 12
