Jodhpur, Bishnoi, Osiyan, Bundi, Fatehpur, Varinasi
Hi,
2 travelers, late 30's in age enjoy cultural and nature travel and authentic experiences and places. With IndiaMike's help, we've got itin narrowed down. 3 weeks, Oct 26 - Nov 18, start in JODHPUR, END IN DELHI. Planned stops: Jodhpur (Bishnoi village) Osiyan Pushkar (NOT during Camel Fair) Bundi Varinasi Keoladeo Bird Sanctuary / Fatehpur Sikri / Agra Delhi [br] QUESTIONS: 1) - Itinerary logistics: Shoud we go from Bundi to Fatehpur/Keoladeo/Agra, then to Varinasi? Or, should we go Bundi to Varinasi first, then backtrack to Fatehpur Sikri/ Keoladeo / Agra?? [br] 2) Transportation suggestions: We plan to take several overnight trains. Do any logistics from above make better sense by bus? [br] 3) - During which part of this tiinerary would be MOST helpful to utilize car and driver hire? [br] 4) - Osiyan: Any good general recommendations? Any recommendation on sunset camel ride? [br] 5) - Bundi: Any general recommendations? [br] 6) - Orchha: Any general recommendations ------------------------- Happy Travels Joe |

I'd do Keoladeo near the end of your stay, if possible; there will be more birds there in November.
Delhi is on the migration path; in October, when I arrive, I always get up at sunrise (jetlag helps) and sit on the roof with a cup of tea, watching the birds fly south! |

We have also planned to visit Osiyan from Jodhpur and would be interested in receiving more information about this destination.

We hired a car and went to Osiyan on a day trip when we were in Jodhpur. It is about 70 km and a half day is enough to visit the temples and ruïns. By the first temple we were picked up by a good English speaking local guide, it is convenient here, since many of the temples are at remote places.

I would suggest something like this ity below.
Jodhpur(Bishnoi village cultural excursion)-osiyan(camels and desert),taxi to pushkar,pushkar(Ajmer)-Bundi-Fateh.pur.sikri- Keoladeo bird sanctruy-Agra-Varanasi-Delhi.I am not very sure how pushkar is connected to bundi and if bundi is connected to Fateh.pur.sikri. there maybe over night Sleeper bus's connected for transportation to and from these cities. |

I think you want to do Bundi - Bharatpur Jn (for Keoladeo Ghana) - then Fatepur Sikri and Agra.
cant comment on what the best route to bundi from Pushkar is, but I think the rest of the above looks like correct sequence. |
