Jalandhar-Simla-Delhi

Four of us are now planning to travel from Jalandhar on evening 18th or early 19th Ocotber to Simla, stay 3 nights, then travel from Simla to Delhi on 23rd October.

Does anyone have advise on best options

Train versus chauffered taxi?/VOLVO coach combination?

look at indarail but seems pricy at 7 day pass AC1 for £154 gbp per person.

well personally...
a taxi till kalka and then the toy train to simla (assuming its started after being badly hit by the rains), back to delhi via volvo from simla, there are umpteen Himachal Roadways volvos...
make sure u make advance bookings

What trains are recommended from Jalandhar to Chandigarh?

to my knowledge there are no trains from jalandhar to chandigarh, there are those till ambala..

Try for a semi deluxe from Jalandhar to Shimla, great fun and cheap. Then get the Volvo Deluxe from Shimla to Delhi.

Doing this so often makes it a no brainer and while getting a Taxi from Jalandhar to Shimla may be more comfortable it will not save that much time, maybe 45 mins but could cost up to Rs 3,000/- instead of possibly Rs 200/- per person.

Thanks.I have tried to book Volvo from Shimla to Delhi via the website but seems to not work. Do you recommend us booking when we get there?
