Itinerary good? Del to Leh Trip on 6-14th Sep 08

Hello Everyone,

I am planning for Leh Trip with 3 friends from 6-14th Sep 08. Is it okay to go there during this period? I heard some rumor about food crisis there due to strike in J&K; is that true?

Here is my plan -

1. Delhi to Manali - Starting 6th Sep (Morning); reaching manali on same day in night. Night Stay at Manali.

2. Manali to Keylong (By Bus) - Starting 7th Morning; reaching Keylong in evening. Night Stay in Keylong.

3. Keylong to Leh (By Taxi) - Starting 8th Morning; reaching Leh in evening. Night stay in Leh.

4. Leh (Local), 9th Sep - Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, Market Place Leh, Shey Hemis and Thiksey monasteries.

5. Leh to Pangong Tso, Alchi, Lamayuru, Likir Gompa May (By Taxi) - starting morning 8AM, 10th Sep returning to Leh on 11th Sep. 10th Sep Night stay at Tanksey (32 Kms from Pangong Tso)

6. Night Stay in Leh on 11th Sep. Starting for Kaza (Spiti) via Chandertal on 12th Sep morning. Night stay in Kaza on 12th.

7. 13th Morning, Kaza to Manali.

8. No night stay. Starting for Delhi on 13th evening and reaching Delhi on 14th Sep Morning.

Please suggest if it's good or we need to alter it in terms of staying places or the no. of days that we're spending at a place etc?
