itinerary for visiting udupi, katil, dharmasthala, kollur etc.

We, 10 adults are planning to arrive at Mangalore (from chennai) by 5 am on a saturday by train, and go to katil, subramanya, udupi, dharmasthala, kollur, murdeeswar etc and reach Sringeri on thursday evening/night, stay there the whole of friday and upto noon on saturday and come back to mangalore by 3.00 pm to take the train for the return journey to chennai. Can someone suggest a day to day itinerary to cover as many places as possible(mostly temples and a few sight seeing places), indicate the availability of accommodation for night stay, food etc? We would like to hire a 4 wheeler from Mangalore and use the same for the entire tour till our return to Mangalore on Saturday.

Pl. see whether this works:

1. Sat: Reach Mangalore and Proceed to Subramanya (about 110kms, 2.5-3hrs journey). O/N Subramanya. (Visit http://www.kukketemple.com/ for more details and also temple run accomodation. Private acco include Ashraya Intl, SLR residency, Maurya).

2. Sun: Start early morning from Subramanya and Visit Dharmasthala (60+kms, 1.5hrs). After lunch proceed to Udupi (110kms, 3-3.5hrs. O/N Udupi. (Visit http://www.udipikrishnamutt.com/ - also has acco options)

3. Mon: Visit Malpe beach and St. Mary's island. Evening visit Kateel, Pajaka (birth place of Madhvacharya)

4. Tue: Start from Udupi, visit Kollur and reach Murudeshwar. O/N at Murudeshwar. Enroute visit Maravante beach. Stay options include RNS residency and Naveen beach resort.

(Visit: http://www.nivalink.com/karnataka/coastal.html for a list of beach resorts in coastal karnataka).

5. Wed: Visit Idagunji Ganesha temple (15kms) and enjoy the beach at Murudeshwar. Alternatively you could make a trip to Jog falls (100 kms, 3hrs one way)

5. Thu: Leave Murudeshwar to Sringeri

Hope this helps,
